Routine, Routine, Routine

Getting my rhythm back isn't always easy for me. I've been lounging at home since December 9. But I have a plan in mind. Routine, routine, and more routine.
I arrived at my apartment Sunday afternoon around 4:30, accompanied by a thousand bags to unpack and exactly 8 trips up and down the stairs. That was a workout in itself! I said to myself, If I were a professional mover, I'd be ripped in no time flat!
Then I needed to make a monstrous grocery run; I purposely tried to run out of as much perishable food as I could before I went home for winter break. At Kroger, I felt pretty good about myself and my choices when I glanced at my cart mid-shop and saw fresh tomato, onion, celery, salad, fat-free hazelnut coffee creamer, skim milk, a slew of Chobanis, canned mushrooms with no salt added, low-sodium whole kernel yellow corn [I'm also watching my sodium intake], Quorn gruyere-stuffed "chicken" breasts, Vitamin Water and SoBe Life Water, and other healthy delicacies. I think I'm really getting back on track to get in shape.
Breakfast Monday morning:
My review of Kashi Indigo Morning -- I added a scoop of Whole Foods apple cinnamon granola and a pinch of flax seeds. The berries in the cereal were a bit tart, but the puffy cereal was light and delicious! I think the granola really gave it some kick, and I was excited to add the flax seeds for my health just because :)
My apartment complex's gym
I set an alarm, got up early (for me), and hit the gym before breakfast. I absolutely loved the Mango Macadamia Nut Kind bar I tried before the gym. I gotta tell you, I could not be more thrilled to be trying (and loving!) so many lovely new foods.

So far, so good. First early morning back, check.
First gym day back, check.
Unpacking, check.
Grocery shopping, check.
Prep work for a new semester, check.
First class of the semester, check.

Dinner Monday night: fresh raspberries, mega salad with tons of fresh veggies, a gruyere-stuffed "chicken" breast, and Apple Cinnamon Chobani topped with granola for dessert
I promise I won't post pictures/updates of all meals! As you can tell, I'm just quite excited to have started off the semester so well :)
Looks like I've still got my rhythm! Ta ta!

P.S. How do you get back into the swing of things after a long break from your routine? I try to adapt to the disruption by immediately throwing myself back into the way I used to do things. Are you frequently proud of your choices when you grocery shop, or do you moan and groan (as we all have) through your stash of empty calories?

That gym looks way better than the one that was in my old apartment complex! That'll be super convenient!

It has everything I need -- ellipticals, treadmills, seven weight machines that I rely on regularly, floor mats, and best of all, not too many regulars! I'm kind of a Nervous Nellie in the gym still, so this space helps me feel pretty comfortable :) Thanks for reading!
